Ambient Fine Dust Sampler is an advanced sampler which is used for determining the concentration in atmosphere of particulate matter of size 2.5 microns and smaller. The sampler is based on EPA reference method for determination of PM2.5 Dust Concentration.

PM2. 5 is more likely to travel into and deposit on the surface of the deeper parts of the lung, while PM10 is more likely to deposit on the surfaces of the larger airways of the upper region of the lung. Particles deposited on the lung surface can induce tissue damage, and lung inflammation.

WHO’s latest global air pollution standard allows for an average of only 15μg/m3 of PM2. 5 concentration in a 24-hour period.

India’s permissible limit is 60μg/m3
