Fine Dust Sampler - PM2.5 Sampler - VTM 650 MFC
VYOMTECH VTM 650 MFC is Ambient Air PM2.5 Fine Dust Sampler based on WINS impactor designs standardized by USEPA for ambient air quality monitoring.
Ambient air enters the VTM 650 MFC through an omni-directional inlet designed to provide a clean aerodynamic cut -point for particles greater than 10 microns. Particles in the air stream finer than 10 microns proceed to a second impactor that has an aerodynamic cut point at 2.5 microns. The air sample and fine particulates exiting from the PM2.5 impactor are passed through a 47mm diameter Teflon filter membrane that retains the FPM.
The sampling rate of the system is held constant at 1m3/hr. By locating all power dissipating components in a separate cabinet, the VTM 650 ensures that the temperature of the PM2.5 filter remains close to ambient temperature and there is no chance of losing volatile fractions of the PM2.5. The system uses a continuous rated, oil free pump for providing suction pressure. The standard system is supplied with a digital flow meter to provide a direct measure of the flowrate and total air volume sampled. Frequently Asked Questions
What is PM 2.5 and why is it so harmful?
Particles that are 2.5 microns or smaller are considered especially dangerous to human health because they bypass many of our body’s defenses. Nose hair, mucus, and other defenses work to catch these smaller particles before they enter deeper into our bodies.
How do you sample particulate matter?
What is fine particulate sampler?
Which is worse PM 2.5 or PM10?
PM2. 5 is more likely to travel into and deposit on the surface of the deeper parts of the lung, while PM10 is more likely to deposit on the surfaces of the larger airways of the upper region of the lung. Particles deposited on the lung surface can induce tissue damage, and lung inflammation.
What level of PM 2.5 is safe?
WHO’s latest global air pollution standard allows for an average of only 15μg/m3 of PM2. 5 concentration in a 24-hour period.
India’s permissible limit is 60μg/m3
What is Fine particulate sampler used for ?
